Adele Inspired glam look plus how to apply False eye lashes.

This week I decided I wanted to do a Celebrity inspired look, its been a while since my last once which was Rita Ora at the Brit's 2014 (http://thebelleofbeauty.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/rita-ora-at-the-brits-2014/). I decided to do a look on Adele, the picture I am taking my inspiration from is her Vogue cover in March 2012, She is without a doubt stunning and her make up is never too crazy its usually easy for anyone to pull it off for a night out or event. I have finally learned how to apply falsies after hours of YouTube videos and practice I will show you how to apply strip lashes in this post also :).

1. First I start off with my base, Instead of a primer I used a moisturiser just because lately my skin has been extremely dry because I have the flu, I am using Clean and Clear Morning Energy Moisturiser , I apply this all over my face and neck. I then take my foundation which is Mac Studio Sculpt foundation in NC15. This foundation is probably a little too light for me but Adele has very pale skin so for this tutorial it is prefect, I apply this with a flat top foundation brush all over my face and neck. I then apply my concealer always before powder because if you apply a liquid ontop of a powder if will look extremely cakey. I apply my concealer in a triangle shape going from the corner of my eye down to the corner of my nose and out to my hairline. I then set my concealer with Mattify Cosmetics Original Transparent powder and I set my foundation with MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder because Adele has such a matte look to her skin.

2. I am now going straight to the eyes. I don't really prime my eyes any more but I do blend a bit of concealer on my lids when I am applying it to my undereyes, If you use a primer just apply it now before you start the eye shadow. In the cover Adele's eyes are pretty simple but she has a strong contoured crease so first I am taking my bronzer (any bronzer will do) which is the Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in the shade 52 , I am taking this on a large fluffy brush and blending it into my crease (in windscreen wiper motions) this will create a sharp contour on the eyes just like Adele has. Then to intensify and make the crease a tad darker I am taking the darkest shade from the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette, I am taking this on a small fluffy brush and blending it into my crease again.

3. Other than Adele's stunning cheekbones her eyeliner is a big part of this look she has a strong winged line. I achieved this by using NYC High Definition Liquid Eye liner. This one is really easy to work with because it is a Felt tip marker type one. The best way to achieve perfect liner is to simply work in short quick strokes along your eyelid, then outline where and what shape you want your wing and fill it in.

4. Now onto the False Lashes, To apply you will need a Pair of lashes (of course), A tweezers and some lash glue.First you want to line the lashes up with your eye and see if they fit, if they are too long then trim them from the inside not the outside , You then want to apply your lash glue onto the strip on the lashes and let it dry for about 15-20 seconds make sure the glue is tacky and not wet when you are applying it otherwise the lash will just slide around on your lid. when the glue is tacky I find it easiest to get your tweezers and hold the lash at the outer part, then place the lash in the middle of your eyelid, try and get it as close to your own lash line as possible, This will take a bit of practise so be patient. Once the middle is secure you want to secure the inner and outer corner then take the other end of your tweezers (the part you hold) and push the false lash down into your own to secure it. The lashes are used are 232 Siamese by Sleek MakeUp.

5. Now to finish off the face, I am using the same bronzer I used on my eyes to contour my face. I contour my cheekbones very heavily because in the picture Adele has very striking cheekbones, I apply bronzer to my forehead just below my hairline and down either side of my nose. I then use NYC blush in Prospect Park Rose I applied this on top of the contour to make it stand out. To highlight I use my all time favourite Sleek Contour Kit in Medium.

6. Lastly, in the picture Adele has a very nude lip but I feel like nudes wash me out so I used a nude but I put a pink underneath just to take the harshness from the nude. I used Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in the shade 101 and Mac lipstick in Myth.

It has been a while since I done a tutorial and Some of you have been asking on the poll I have running, It is a great way for me to know what you all wanna see on this blog so keep voting :). I hope you all liked this tutorial and as always thanks for reading :).

Big Collective Haul (make up, hair and skin)

I am really sorry for the late post this week, its been a very busy week for me as I graduated from school during the week and I am also trying to get my portfolio together as I have my interview for my course in the morning. Today I have a big collective haul for you, I have purchased these items over the course of the past week and a half from many different shops.

1. Cocoa Brown Night Day Tan Mousse.
First I am going to start off with all of the skin things. For years I have used my trusty Rimmel Sun shimmer Instant tan in Light Matte, But lately I just felt like it was not looking good at all so I decided to try something new. I had heard a lot of good things about the cocoa Brown tan and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Cocoa Brown have 2 tans which I was very confused by in Cara Pharmacy but the lovely woman in the shop explained both to me very well, this one is the day to night tan which basically means you apply it before your running out the door to go out and its there it doesn't take any time to develop and when you have a shower the next day you are left with a natural looking tan. The other tan is a one hour tan which develops in an hour. This tan is literally what I have been searching for its so natural and easy to apply it retails at €7.39 in Cara Pharmacy which is about €2 dearer than the Rimmel tan but so worth it.Below is a picture of the tan 1 day after application just after a shower.

2. Cocoa Brown Ultimate Travel Set.
After using the Day and Night tan I stumbled across this Travel Set in Primark. This set includes: 100ml Cocoa Brown 1 HOUR TAN, 75ml Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Oil-Free Body Moisturiser and 75ml Cocoa Brown TOUGH STUFF Body Scrub. I have not tried all of the products but I did try the chocolate whip moisturiser and its amazing, It smells so beautiful and makes me skin feel so soft, it also helps keep the tan on. This set retails at €10 in Primark.

3. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
I absolutely love micellar water, It removes everything but doesn't damage or leave the skin feeling oily and horrible. I usually use the L'Oreal one but when I saw this I was in shock because it is twice the size of the L'Oreal one and its cheaper too. The L'Oreal one is 200ml and retails at €4.46, This Garnier one is 400ml and retails at €3.80 in Primark stores. This is a great alternative to make up remover wipes because they strip your face of its natural oils and tend to leave it very dry.

4. Garnier Body Oil Beauty Nourishing Lotion.
I have never been the type to moisturise my body, I do it with my face daily but I have never done it with my body consistently so I saw this in Primark and when I got home I saw a few blog posts and a TV ad about it. I haven't really tried it out too much yet because I am tanned at the the minute so I am using the cocoa Brown Chocolate whip moisturiser to pro long my tan but I have heard so many good things that I cant be disappointed by this. This product retails at €3.60 in Primark stores I think its a bit more expensive everywhere else.

035

5. Schwarzkopf Got2b 2 sexy Big Volume Push up Hairspray.
I expected really great things from this hairspray given all the promises in that huge name but I felt really disappointed by it, I want a hairspray that gives volume and leaves no horrible sticky hard feeling afterwards. This hairspray doesn't give too much volume and leaves my hair with a horrible stiff non sexy look and feel. Can anyone please comment below if they know the hairspray I am looking for because I need to find it so badly. This product retails at €3.50 in Ireland.

6. w7 Catwalk Face Shaper.
I have been extremtly impressed by w7's product range lately they are so affordable and have such a variety of prodcuts. This product is basically a contour and highlight duo kit I have never tried a cream bronzer so I am really excited to use this. I think I might use it in my next post which will be a celebrity inspired tutorial. This kit retails at €6 in Ireland.

7. Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer.
I have ranted and raved about this product so many times on this blog, Its my ultimate all time number 1 favourite concealer. It does exactly what it says on the tin, I was using the MUA Cover and Conceal which is good and a lot cheaper but it isn't the same. This concealer retails at €6.99 in Ireland.

10330310_10202121101815257_394294182930581837_n

8. Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in shade 101.
I have been on the hunt for a light pink everyday cheap lipstick for a few months now and Rimmel have just come out with more shades for the Kate Moss Matte collection. This lipstick is a beautiful pink everyday colour it is matte but for a bit of shine I usually add a pink lip gloss over it. This lipstick retails at €3.99 in Ireland.

9. NYC Cheek Glow in the shade 649 Prospect Park Rose.
I am not really too sure why I purchased this Blush because I have so many shades like it but I am a make up hoarder and proud :) This blush is a rose pink colour with silver bits of glitter in it. It is perfect for an everyday natural flush of colour. This product retails at around €3.00 in Ireland.

10. Smashbox Brow Tech in Smashing Auburn.
I recently used up my MUA pro brow kit which I really liked because it came with a wax which I feel is an amazing thing to use on your brows it gives them a kind of a glossy finish and keeps everything in place, Cara Pharmacy had a massive clearance sale on Smashbox and Mac products everything was crazy cheap I got this brow kit for €5 which is unreal for a Smashbox product. This duo comes with a powder and a wax it is so tiny and easy to throw in your make up bag and bring anywhere. Apologises for the picture I forgot to photograph it before I used it, I was just too excited.

1010092_10202121103175291_2632792771153984848_n

11. Mac Eye shadow in the shade Nightrain.
The second last product is an Eye shadow by Mac, As I said above Cara pharmacy had a massive clearance on Mac and Smashbox, this eye shadow only €3.00 which is just crazy for Mac. I have a few other Mac eye shadows and the quality of them is amazing, this shade is a deep grey with a lot of different colour glitter. If you have not tried the Mac eye shadows yet you are missing out they are amazing to work with.

10402652_10202121101775256_6135923098140897347_n

12. NYC nail polish in 350 Rooftop Party Berry and Twistable Lip balm in 041 Ballroom Blush.
I am putting the last 2 porducts together because they are the exact same colours just for lips and nails. These are both beautiful berry shades they are perfect for the upcoming summer months. I am a big fan of the NYC nail polishes they have such a wide range of coulors, all of the NYC nail polishes retail at €1.99 in Ireland. I have talked about the Twistable Lip colours before they are amazing quality, easy to carry around and last ages, These retail at €3.50 in Ireland.

My Weekly Favourites

I have been loving a mixture of skin , nails and make up products these past 2/3 weeks. Most of the products featured in this post are reasonably affordable I will leave a link below to all of the prodcuts if you wish to buy them. I would also like to thank Neo Strata for sending me a huge box of samples which I have been loving.

1. Primark blending sponge.
I have spoken about this product in my Whats in my make up bag post - http://thebelleofbeauty.wordpress.com/2014/05/07/whats-in-my-make-up-bag/ last week so I wont go into too much detail. I have been loving this sponge so much, It applies my foundation so easily and naturally. The only thing I am struggling with is how to clean the sponge if anyone has any tips please let me know I would really appreciate it. This sponge retails at €1.50 in all Primark stores.

[caption id="attachment_484" align="alignnone" width="300"]on the top right is the sponge dry on the bottom right is the sponge wet after 2 uses . on the top right is the sponge dry

2. NYC in a New York Minute Quick Dry Nail polish.
With summer slowly approaching I have been trying to get into the summer mood despite the weather. This nail polish in the shade 300 Pink Tulip is the perfect summer nail colour it is a bright coral-pink shade, The application and staying power of these nail polishes are not amazing but reasonable , You will need to apply 2 or 3 coats to get the full pop of colour. These nail polishes retail at €2.49.

3. MUA Cover and Conceal.
I recently ran out of my Rimmel Wake me up concealer so I decided to have a look in my collection to see what I had. I came across this concealer that I used religiously for months but forgot about it once I purchased the Wake Me Up Concealer. This is by far the cheapest yet best quality concealer I have used. It comes in 3 shades Fair , Natural and Almond. This product retails at around €2.50 , its wand applicator allows you to easily glide it on under the eyes or on top of blemishes.

4. Sleek Storm Palette.
I have many of the sleek palettes but I have been loving this one lately. This palette comes with 12 eye shadows, 3 matte and 9 shimmer. The packaging of these palettes are ideal , they are lightweight and have a big mirror. The only downside of this palette is that the shadows have no names I know its not a big deal but even for the purposes of blogging its hard to explain what shadows you like, I have taken a picture of the 2 eye shadows I have recently been wearing lately which are in the picture below on the bottom right. This palette retails at €14.39 which is a brilliant price for a palette.

5. Neo Strata Bionic Eye Cream Plus.
Neo Strata Recently sent me a sizeable box of samples of all their skincare products, I have been trying these products out for a good few weeks now and I am in love with this product. I usually never use eye creams but lately my eyes felt dry and red so I decided to give this product a try. I honestly have seen a massive improvement in my eye area, I apply this first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This product retails at around €40.00 not the cheapest product but 100% worth it.

What's in my Make-up Bag ?

I don't usually carry my make up around with me because once applied, my make up usually stays on for the day but when I know I am going to be away maybe for the night and I want to apply make up the next day these are the things I always carry around, I will also leave links below to all the products I talk about.

1. Primark Beauty Blender.
I saw this product on Facebook it was recommended by a beauty guru, She said how amazing it was and how much she loved it so I decided to try it out so see if it was as amazing as she said it was. This sponge retails at €1.50 in all Primark stores, This little sponge has changed the way I apply my make up and I really wasn't expecting it to but it has. My foundation applies flawlessly and natural it feels like I am not wearing any make up because the application is so light. Before use I would advise you to run it under the hot tap for a few mins but keep squeezing it as it is under the tap, Make sure that it is damp enough that you can feel it but not dripping because it will just remove foundation instead of spreading it. I would 100% recommended this product especially because it is so cheap.

[caption id="attachment_484" align="alignnone" width="300"]on the top right is the sponge dry on the bottom right is the sponge wet after 2 uses . on the top right is the sponge dry
on the bottom right is the sponge wet after 2 uses .[/caption]

2.Revlon Age Defying Cream Foundation.
I bought this foundation 2 weeks ago because I wanted to start trying new foundations and I love this one its the perfect shade for me, (Bare Buff 10) it feels light and lasts all day. This foundation was only €3 in Cara Pharmacy They only had a certain amount in stock I think, because when I went back in to buy more they were all sold out. I love to just dot this on my face and blend it in with the Primark Beauty Blender it looks so natural and flawless.

108

3. Mattify Cosmetics Original Transparent powder.
I spoke about this product in my Mattify Cosmetics Review (http://thebelleofbeauty.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/mattify-cosmetics-review/) so I wont go into too much detail but I absaloutely love this product it makes my foundation and concealer look flawless when I apply it, It also keeps them on all day and throughout the night.

10318657_10201945597867768_1786606676_n

4. Mac Fix+.
I not sure if I have spoken about this product before , I know I have included it in a few tutorials. Anyway, I use this product everyday to set my make up. It is basically a finishing spray which means once your make up is all applied you spray a few sprays of this on your face and you are good to go for the day. This spray is also really good to make eye shadows stand out more you just spray a few sprays onto your eye brush and apply the eye shadow as normal.

111

5.w7 Golden Brown Eyeshadow Palette.
I picked this little palette up in Cara Pharmacy last week it was €2.50 and contains 4 eyeshadows, a neutral cream with silver glitter, a medium beige with silver glitter,a chocolate brown with silver glitter and finally a purply-brown with purple and blue shimmer. This palette is really good value and is all you need to create a neutral daytime look.

110

6. Make up Academy Clear Mascara.
I use this mascara for my brows, It is a clear mascara, well it was when I bought it its not so clear now, It is in the shade 1. This product keeps my brows in place throughout the whole day I would not be able to do my brows without it. It retails at around €2.50 which is really cheap for the quality.

112

7. They're Real Mascara by Benefit.
I have talked about this mascara in so many posts so I wont go into detail. The only problem I have recently discovered about this mascara is that it is almost impossible to remove, does anybody else have this problem ? I find myself rubbing for ages and ages and my eyes get really red from rubbing them, its such a pain ! Other than that it is an amazing mascara.

IMG_2389

8. Rimmel Apocalips in 102 Nova.
Last but not least is The Rimmel Apocalips in Nova, I love this colour its a really beautiful pink shade I like to put a light pink lipgloss over it just to give it a bit more shine and a bit of glitter. These lip lacquers retail at €7.95 which isn't too cheap but they are worth it.
