Weekly beauty buys.

I have picked up quite a few make up bits these past few weeks as you can tell by all of the hauls, I promise there are some tutorials coming soon especially for Halloween which is coming up. This weeks bits are a mixture of things I bought in shops and one on line purchase.

1. Catrice Colour Correcting Mattifying Powder.
I have tried powders from Catrice before and loved them, this powder is a new release I think because last Thursday was the first time I saw it in Cara Pharmacy. This powder has a mixture of colours like green, peach and pink which will correct dark circles (pink) and redness (green). I have used this powder since I purchased it and I love it so much. This powder has such a silky feel which means it applies so smoothly to the skin. This powder was around €4.99.

2. I Love Cosmetics Glossy Lip Balm.
I love to use lip balms just because my lips tend to be very dry so I like to wear and lip balm to keep them hydrated. I was attracted to these lip balms purely because of the scent and price. The two flavours I got were Vanilla Ice cream and Lemon and Limes. The Lemon and Lime flavour smells like those loop the loop ice pops that we have in Ireland, And the vanilla Ice cream is self explanatory really. I was surprised at how big these tubs are for the price which was 75 cent. I am really enjoying these two lip balms.

3. Stila Kitten All Over Shimmer Duo.
I have been wanting this highlighter for ages but it was always sold out when I went in to get it, Last Thursday I was so happy when they finally had it in stock. I am still a bit unsure of what the darker shade is in this duo, I don't know if it is a bronzer or a highlighter for darker skin tones. If you know could you please write it in the comments :). This is a beautiful duo for the cheekbones, I also like to use the lighter shade as an eye shadow. This duo was €16.00 in Cara Pharmacy.

4. Revlon Photoready Concealer in Light-Medium.
All of the Revlon products were €3.00 in Cara Pharmacy this week and I Picked up this concealer because I have never used a stick concealer before. The only thing about this is I think it is going to be a bit too dark for me for everyday use, It may work when I am fake tanned. It also has a very orangey-yellow tone to it so I don't know how that will work out but I will let you know when I do play around with it.

5. Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick.
I spoke about a different shade of these lipsticks in my previous Revlon haul, I really loved the last colour which was Backstage a deep berry shade. I decided to pick up a more wearable one for everyday use. this one is in the shade 030 High Heels, It is a sheer pink colour. Although it is sheer it is still very pigmented. This lipstick was €3.00.

st
I have spoke about this foundation many times on my blog so I wont go into detail, My shade is Warm Ivory and this foundation is a beautiful formula once you give it a good shake before using it. This was reduced from €13.00 to €8.00 I think Which is a bargain for any L'Oreal Product in Ireland.

7. Sixplus 15 Piece Brush Set.
I recently purchased this brush set on the wish shopping app which you can download on your iPhone. This brush set has 15 different brushes which are all amazing quality. I will be posting a video which I have already filmed going through all of these brushes and what I used them for so head on over to my YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC7sJatXOWIJ3mQnltdazNw and subscribe if you would like to see that video. These brushes were €15.00 which is €1.00 a brush, amazing bargain.

The super fun time excellence good nice blogger fancy person award

pastel

Last week I was nominated by the lovely Clare's Beauty - (http://claresbeauty.wordpress.com/) for the award with possibly the longest name which is The super fun time excellence good nice blogger fancy person award. I am really enjoying these tags/ awards lately so why not post another one. So how this one works is The person who nominated me provided 10 questions which I answer, I then write out ten different questions for the people I nominate to answer and so on, I think you can nominate as many/little people as you want, now onto the questions.

1. Night out or in ?
As much as I love to go out I would have to say night in, theres nothing like curling up in a blanket on front of the TV.

2. Top ten items on your wish list.
My wish list is getting out of control lately, but these are my top ten,
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
- Chanel VitalumiƩre Aqua foundation
- Mac Velvet Teddy Lipstick
- Mac Heroine Lipstick
- Mac Rebel Lipstick
- Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette
- Lorac Pro 2 Palette
- Mary Lou-manizer by The Balm
- Stila Kitten Highlighter
- Stila In The Light Palette

3. Favourite Designer.
I dont really have a favourite designer to be honest, I am more of a make up then fashion person.

4. Your Signature Make up look.
I don't exactly have a signature make up look but I usually stick to neutral shades for everyday wear, if you count that as a "signature look".

5. Favourite Candle Scent.
I love fresh scents, there is a Yankee Candle called fluffy towels which smells amazing.

6. Book or Kindle.
I don't own a kindle so on the rare occasion I do read a book I like to physically hold it and flick through the pages.

7. Best Recent Film Watched.
I seen a few new releases lately but my favourite has to be Maleficent.

8. Favourite Clothes shop.
I would have to say Primark, great style for an affordable price. Second best would be New Look.

9. Favourite Comedian.
Hands down has to be Michael McIntyre, I am in tears of laughter every time I watch him.

10. Your hero ?
I wasn't really to sure what to answer for this question, but I though about it and a hero is someone you look up to/admire so for me it would have to be my mum (as cheesy as that sounds).

And My questions for you.

3. Favourite TV Programme.
4. Your Holy Grail Product.

Small Revlon Haul.

I Recently picked up a few bits from Cara Pharmacy which are all Revlon Products, I know some of these products have been around for a long time and I am a tad late on the bang wagon for some of them, but hey its better late than never :).

1. Revlon Colour burst Lip Butter.
These Lip Butters have been around for quite some time now but I really wanted to try them back then and never got round to purchasing them , I then forgot about them for a while so now I am finally trying them out . I picked up 2 shades which are 045 Cotton candy and 080 Strawberry Shortcake. First of all what I really like about these is the packaging, They have a transparent case which is the colour of the lipstick, They also have a little clear plastic square at the top which allows you to see the shade of the lipstick.

DSCF5163

DSCF5170

DSCF5168

DSCF5179

DSCF5182

Cotton Candy is a light frosty pink which isn't very pigmented but I can tell by the consistency that it will be very moisturising and a nice natural flush of colour on the lips. I expected this shade to be a lot more of a candy pink mainly because of the name and the colour of the packaging but it doesn't come out the same way when swatched.

DSCF5193

Strawberry shortcake is a lot more pigmented than Cotton Candy, this shade would be a beautiful everyday pink shade. It also has a slight blue undertone which will make your teeth appear whiter. This shade is less shimmery than Cotton Candy.

2. Revlon Colour stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick.
Lipsticks are my weakness, I will never have enough no matter how hard I try. This year I am really excited about autumn/winter because it means darker lipstick and layering! I love dark purple and red lipsticks. This shade is 035 Backstage. It is a beautiful dark maroon shade, It has a glossy finish which makes this lipstick more wearable because it isn't as pigmented as a matte lipstick would be. This Lipstick was €3 which is amazing value for a Revlon lipstick.

3. Revlon 16Hr Eye shadow Quad.
I have tried Revlon eye shadows in the past and loved them so I picked up this quad in the shade 500 Addictive. This is a neutral based palette which has a light cream shade with specks of silver glitter in it, a light taupe shade with silver glitter in it, a medium toned brown which has a satin finish and a dark matte brown. This palette is the prefect palette if you are starting off with make up and you want a palette with a few shades for everyday wear, this palette is also perfect for travelling because it is small and compact. This palette was €4 which is very affordable.

4. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara.
This item was a re-purchase as I had it a few months back but I hadn't seen it for a while so when I saw it I picked it up, I love this mascara so much it gives my lashes volume and length and it doesn't go clumpy on the lashes. This mascara was €3.

And thats it for this weeks post. I may have some more surprise posts during the week so keep a look out for those and as always Thanks for reading :).

Stila In the moment palette review

This week I was on the hunt for a good quality eye shadow palette that I could use for my grad (debs/prom) as I will be doing my own make up, Originally I wanted to purchase the In The Light palette mainly because it contained Kitten which is a very popular eye shadow and highlight shade by Stila, but they were sold out. It took me a while to make a decision between the in the garden , in the know and in the moment palettes. In the end I went with the In the moment because in my opinion it is the closest to the in the light palette shade wise. This palette was €27, which is my opinion is a brilliant price for a palette from such a popular brand.

DSCF5019

DSCF0257

This palette comes in a lilac cardboard packaging which is the only thing I dislike about this palette because it feels very cheap for the price. Initially when you take the palette out of the packaging there is a little look book which contains 6 looks and instructions on how to re-create them, I really like this feature to the palette because I think for beginners starting out it is really helpful.

DSCF0260

DSCF0264

DSCF0263

This palette also includes a full size Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade "Tetra" which is a deep purple shade with silver glitter in it. Also instead of a mirror on the top of this palette there is a lovely quote from Stila's Global Director of Education Sarah Lucreo which reads "Cherish the beauty of the moment"

DSCF0278

DSCF0282

DSCF5038

Now onto the shades , This palette contains 10 eye shadows with one matte and the rest a mix of shimmer, satin, and frosty shades, all eye shadows can be used wet or dry. The top row of shadows is mainly purple shades from light to dark with one neutral pinky shade which is my favourite shade from this palette. The top row of shadows contain Instinct which is a frosty pinky cream shade, Impulse which is a frosty pale lilac , Glance which is a rich medium toned purple with a satin finish , Improvise which is a plum shade with chunks of purple glitter in it, and Catalyst which is a deep black with purple glitter.

The Bottom row of eye shadows is all neutral shades which are Desire which is a matte pale peach shade that is not as pigmented as the others , Wonder which is pinkish tan shade with a satin finish , Spontaneous which is a shimmery copper shade , Whim which is a warm shimmery brown which again is not as pigmented as the others , and Captivate which is frosty brown with metallic glitter in it. My favourite shades from this palette are definitely Instinct ,spontaneous ,whim and captivate.

Overall I really love this palette and I am very happy I purchased it , I have found the look I think is the pefrect graduation/prom/debs look and I will leave some pictures below and I will have a video up on my YouTube of that look Tomorrow so if you would like to check my channel out here is the link - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC7sJatXOWIJ3mQnltdazNw.
I hope you all enjoyed this post , comment below your thoughts on this palette and as always thanks for reading :).
